How it works

Three steps, no hassle

YouTube stores sound and picture as separate tracks. Choosing Audio only saves the sound track as it is (AAC or Opus), which is smaller and sounds better than a file converted a second time.

  1. Open the video on YouTube and click the SaveAllVid extension icon, or paste its link in the Android app.

  2. Under Audio only, choose Original audio; the size is shown before you download.

  3. The track is saved on your device and plays in any modern player.

Is the file an MP3?

The extension saves the original track (M4A or Opus) without converting it, so no quality is lost. Phones, computers and car players open it like an MP3.

What audio quality does YouTube offer?

Usually around 128 to 160 kbps in AAC or Opus. A file with a higher number would only be the same sound re-encoded and larger.

Can I get the audio of a long video or podcast?

Yes. The extension and the app download with your own connection, so there is no length or size limit.
