How it works

Three steps, no hassle

X converts every GIF to a silent MP4 when it is uploaded, because it weighs far less than a real .gif file. That is why Save image does not work on them. SaveAllVid fetches that clip in its original quality.

Open the post with the GIF on X, tap Share and copy the link.
Paste it here: the GIF is detected as a short video.
Press Download and the clip is saved as an MP4.

Frequently asked questions

GIFs from X (Twitter)

Why is the file an MP4 and not a .gif?

Because that is how X keeps it. The original .gif no longer exists on their servers; the MP4 is the best copy available, smaller and sharper.

Can I use it as a GIF in chats?

Most messaging apps loop short MP4 clips just like GIFs. If you need a real .gif file, any video editor or converter makes one from the MP4.

Does the GIF have sound?

No. Clips that X labels as GIF never carry an audio track.
