How it works

Three steps, no hassle

Twitch removes past broadcasts automatically after a period that depends on the type of account, from seven to sixty days. A VOD lasts hours, so it is downloaded with the extension or the app, which use your own connection and have no size limit.

  1. Open the VOD from the Videos tab of your channel (its address looks like twitch.tv/videos/…).

  2. Click the SaveAllVid extension icon, or share the link to the Android app.

  3. Choose the quality and leave the download running; the parts are joined into one file.

Frequently asked questions

Twitch VODs

How long does a VOD take to download?

It depends on its length and your connection. A stream of several hours in 1080p is several gigabytes; choosing 720p roughly halves the size.

Can I download subscriber-only VODs?

Only if your Twitch session has access. The extension works with the session of your browser.

Are muted sections restored?

No. If Twitch muted part of the VOD because of copyrighted music, that part stays silent in the file.
